News on the Flock
We've increased our chicken flock again. This time with Dominiques, and the pullets are starting to lay marketable eggs. We'll keep the lights on for them so they won't know it is winter. Please don't tell them! Our other producing birds are Ameraucanas, the ones that lay the blue, green and olive eggs. We still have a few Rhode Island Reds that are producing, too. The Australorps and Plymouth Rocks are history. They are just not as robust as the Ameraucanas and the Dominiques at our farm.
